Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a fan-driven generator which generates vortex current upon collecting of wind blowing substantially horizontally, converts the current into upward flow, provides a generating fan in a wind passage to thereby elminiate the turning operation of the fan toward the wind direction.
CONSTITUTION: A tower-like stationary guide fin structure 1 is constructed by arranging radially a plurality of vertical curved plates 2 at suitable interval. Assuming that the center is represented by O, a circle passing through an internal end of the plates 2 by C2 and a circle passing similarly through the external end of the plates 2 by C3, the shape and disposition of the plates 2 draw smaller basic circle C1 than the circle C2 and a circle C4 larger than the circle C2 and smaller than the circle C3, and a circular arc making external contact with the basic circle C1 from the respective points equally divided from the circumference of the circle C4 to thereby utilize the circular arc thus obtained as the shape of the vertical curved plates 2. Then, a contract flow duct 3 provided with a generating fan 4 is mounted at the top of the structure 1.
