Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a construction which makes possible both functions of read and write and is suited for micro-miniaturization by providing a spiral coil in the annular recess formed in a ferromagnetic material substrate. CONSTITUTION:An annular recess 7 is provided around the protrusion 6 of a ferromagnetic material substrate 4. A spiral coil 5 is provided on the insulation layer 11 of the bottom thereof, one end of the coil 5 being connected to the protrusion 6 and the other end being connected to external terminal 10 through notch 8. When the drive current corresponding to data is flowed to the coil 5 at the time of writing data in a magnetic disc, the data are written in perpendicular magnetization system in the portion of the disc facing the protrusion 6. At the reading, the recording information pases the protrusion 6 and voltage is induced in the coil 5 at the change point thereof.
