Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of a cooling system at reactor stop by adding a low pressure water pump to the cooling system and driving the pump when a cooling system pump is stopped.
CONSTITUTION: A low pressure water pump 10 is added to a cooling system at reactor stop and communicates through valves 9, 11 and 12 with heat exchangers 7, 8. When a pump 2 or 3 is stopped, the valve 9 is opened, the pump 10 is started, the valve 11 or 12 is opened to thereby feed cooling water to the heat exchanger 7 or 8 to thereby cool the heat exchanger, and then to return it to a nuclear reactpr 4. Even if the pump in the cooling system is, accordingly, stopped, it can improve the reliability of the system by driving a pump to be provided instead.
