Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the power loss by dividing the input-side winding of the transformer into two parts and then connecting them to each collector of the transistors featuring the Darlington connection. CONSTITUTION:The source power supply is given from input terminal 11 and 12, and at the same time the control signal is supplied to the base of transistor 7 from control circuit 3. Thus, transistor 7 conducts, and the current flows into the base of transistor 6 from the emitter of transistor 7. In this case, the voltage is produced between windings OP of transformer 8 in the direction of the solid-line arrow. Owing to this voltage, the voltage is caused also between windings QR. Thus, the current limited by collector resistance 10 of transistor 7 is supplied after rectification at diode 9.
