Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the camera readily rotatable even by hand by providing a balance weight to the scintillation camera body and matching the centroid of the camera to the center of rotation when multiple kinds of collimators are mounted to the scintillation camera.
CONSTITUTION: A collimator 2 is mounted on the radiation inlet side radiated from the person to be examined of the housing 7 of a scintillation camera body 1 and a flat plate form balance weight 6 is provided in parallel by way of a rotation center 5' corresponding to the collimator 2 and the rotating shaft 5 of the support arm of the scintillation camera body 1 inside of the housing 7. Plural springs 8 are provided between the collimator 2 of the housing 7 and the balance weight 6 on the side opposite therefrom. In addition, two rods are fixed to the balance weight 6 on the side opposite from their springs 8 and two screws 10 are screwed and provided to the housing 7 on a straight line respectively in opposition to the rods 9. Screw threads are cut in the portions corresponding to the screws 10 of the housing 7 and the holes for inserting the screws 10 are provided in the portions of the collimator 2.
