Abstract
PURPOSE:To considerably reduce the vibrations in the vertical directions of the outside circumferential part of discs by providing a channel limiting member in which the portions of magnetic discs are concave and the portions between said discs are convex to the inside circumferential wall surface within a shroud. CONSTITUTION:A shroud 1 is constituted by two shroud halves 1a, 1b of a semi- circular section. A channel limiting member 8 of a section like pulse waves having concave parts 8a for the portions corresponding to magnetic discs 2 and convex parts 8b for the portions between the discs 2 is provided to the circumferential wall surface on the inner side of the shroud halves 1a, 1b. In this way, extremely narrow channels are formed on the outside circumferential parts of the discs 2. As a result, the production of turbulent flow at the outside circumferential parts of the rotating discs 2 is forcefully inhibited and only the air of the straightened flow flows in the channels 9, thus the vibration amplitudes in the vertical directions of the outside circumferential portions of the disc may be considerably reduced.
