Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a turbulent flow in a combustion chamber and thus perform a steady burning, by locating sub-suction passages having a No.2 throttle valve and a rotary valve at the downstream of an internal combustion engine and by feeding air-fuel mixture through the sub-suction passage in the case of a low engine speed.
CONSTITUTION: A throttle valve 12 and a No.2 throttle valve 17 are mounted at a suction passage 5, and sub-suction passages 27 and 29, which connect together the upstream and downstream of the No.2 throttle valve 17, are located. A rotary valve 19, which works in conjunction with the No.2 throttle valve 17 but whose opening and closing action is contrary to the action of the valve 17, is placed at the sub-suction passage 29. The No.2 throttle valve 17 is further connected with a negative pressure diaphragm 50 into which a suction negative pressure is fed through a negative pressure pipe 40, and the No.2 throttle valve 17 closes and the rotary valve 19 opens in the case of a low engine speed. The air-fuel mixture is thus fed to a combustion chamber after its flow speed is increased through the work of the sub-suction passages 27 and 29.
