Abstract

PURPOSE: For effective CO and NO2 removal from air at room temperature, air cleaner uses a special composition blended formed body as well as a similar formed body carrying catalyst of single Pd or mixed Pd with one or more of special metal.
CONSTITUTION: A blended formed body NO2 remover 4 consists of alkali such as K2CO3 and cement material such as fired gypsum. CO oxidation catalyst 5 comprises alkali such as K2CO3 and cement material such as calcium aluminate blended formed body carrying single Pd or Pd mixed with one or more of precious metal selected from Pt or like. The fan 6 in the cleaner automatically operates or closes according to CO concentration in the room detected by the CO sensor 8. Air is sucked from the inlet 1, dust is removed by the collector 2, the air passes through the filters of the remover 4 and catalyst layer 5, etc., for effective, room temperature CO removal, providing cleaned air. The catalyst 5 is arranged downstream of NO2 remover 5 to prevent NO2 poisoning.
