Abstract
PURPOSE: To readily perform timbre setting of the musical tone produced without making intricate operations by selectively reading out the contents of memories which store plural weighted data and forming the musical tone signals of the desired timbres.
CONSTITUTION: According to key touching, a key switch scanning circuit 2 causes the musical tone waveform codes coresponding to key touch pitches through reading of the sine table of a time division waveform generating circuit 4 to be produced through a timing signal generating circuit 3. These codes are applied to a multiplying converter 5'. At the same time, the opening and closing of the gates of weighting circuits 39 thru 47 by the shift registers 31 thru 38 of a timbre setting unit 30' are subsequently controlled by the key switch scanning circuit 2 according to key touching. As a result, the weighted signals of memories M1 thru Mn in which the weights corresponding to the draw bars of the respective musical instruments selected by switches S1 thru Sn-2 are read out and are passed through an adder 48 from the circuits 39 thru 47 to give weights to the musical tone waveform codes of the converter 5'. Hence, the timbre setting of the musical tone produced may be performed may be performed only through switch operation without making the intricate operations of the draw bars.
