Abstract
PURPOSE:By digitally operating the difference of frequencies generated between the standard pulse and the pulse output from a knock detecting device, to control statical ignition timing in response to the dispersion of knocks. CONSTITUTION:The ignition pulse generated in a pickup 2 with the rotation of an engine is converted into a square wave by a wave form shaping circuit 3. On the other hand, the signal detected by a knocking sensor 9 is transmitted to a knocking discriminant circuit 11 through a filter 10 and outputs one pulse every ignition cycle where knocks occur. The integrating circuit 6 receiving ignition pulses repeats its integration and outputs square wave pulses whenever a fixed number of pulses is integrated. A counter 7 is counted down by the standard pulses recived from the integrating circuit and counted up by the pulses from the knocking discriminant circuit. In response to these count values the ignition pulses are delayed.
