Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate dangerous operation of robot and protect the robot from damages, by extending wire along the length of robot arm and stopping the operation of robot through detection of displacement of the wire. CONSTITUTION:Wire guiding means 6a, 6b, 6c are provided at the base portion and the top portion of horizontal arm 4, in the manner that they project outwards from the side face of arm 4, and the arm 4 is further provided with wire tensioner means 7 and displacement detecting means 8. One end of wire 9 is fixed to fixing means 5, and the other end is fixed to said wire tensioner means 7 after passing wire 9 around wire guiding means 6a through 6i in their alphabetical order. The wire tensioner means 7 consists of movable shieves 11 and fixed shieves 12 and enlarges displacement L of wire 9 at rod fixing section 15 by the principle of shieves. Operation of robot can be readily stopped by detecting the enlarged displacement of wire 9 by the displacement detecting means 8.
