The set tension value is gaven as the input of the electrically-driven potentiometer MRH through the amplifier 3A; the potentiometer 2RH 1 is for the feedback of the electrically-driven potentiometer MRH, and the potentiometer 3RH is for the bias. The potentiometer 2RH 2 is interlocked to the potentiometer 2RH 1, and is combined with the amplifier 2A to constitute the dividing circuit. The output of the amplifier 2A is made by equivalently dividing the output of the amplifier 1A by the sectional area of the strip. Thus, when the sheet size is large, the gain of the tension control system is reduced inverse-proportionally to the sheet size; and when the sheet size is small, the gain of the circuit increases inversely to above.
