Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent of the segregation of raw material by increasing the number of raw material hoppers without the furnace top being raised by providing a raw material transversal feeder inside an air-tight chamber leading to furnace, locating between raw material hoppers and raw material charge opening provided above the furnace axle from the lower part of the raw material hoppers. CONSTITUTION:Four raw material hoppers 1 are arranged symmetrically with the furnace axle 11. The number of the raw material hoppers may be increased to the multiple of 4, that is, 6, 8, and so on. The lower part of the hoppers 1 is each provided with the raw material regulating gate 3 whose opening is changeable and also the lower part of the gate 3 is provided with the gas-sealing valve 4. When the same kind of raw materials are charged concurrently from a pair of the raw material hoppers 1 facing each other, the charged raw materials are changed from the lower end of the vibrating feeder 12 to the raw material charging opening 5, where the raw materials charged from left and right sides are run into the furnace axle 11 while colliding with each other, thus preventing the segregation of raw materials. The charged raw materials are controlled by the gate 3 and further controlled more exactly by controlling the driving force of the vibrating feeder 12.
