Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the musical tone of movable formant characteristics to be readily produced by controlling the amplitude coefficients which set the amplitude values of higher harmonic components by the order of each component and the frequencies of the musical tone.
CONSTITUTION: A counter 18 counts clock pulses and outputs order numbers n, which are then multiplied by the frequency numbers R from a frequency number memory in a multiplier 19. With this value nR as an address signal, the amplitude coefficient CnR is read out from an amplitude coefficient memory 20 and is inputted to a higher harmonic amplitude multiplier 13. Here, the amplitude setting of each higher harominc wave is performed from the since wave amplitude value of each higher harminic wave being the output of a sine wave function memory 10 obtained through a key switch circuit 1, memory 2, interval adder 6, etc. The set values Fn are subsequently cumulated in a cumulator 14 and are produced as musical tone by way of D-A converter 16, etc. Hence, by corresponding the amplitude coefficients CnR being stored in the memory 20 to desired formant characteristics, the musical tone of the movable formant characteristics may be readily generated.
