Abstract

PURPOSE: To limit the consumption of clean water to be low, by providing a regulating valve at a halfway part of a drain pipe to restrict the outflow of pressure water passed through the clearance on a sliding part of a bearing.
CONSTITUTION: The clean pressure water is supplied from a water pressure source 17 to a lower pressure chamber 1 through a feed water pipe 9 to lubricate the main bearing at the sliding part 15. The clean water is thereafter conducted to an upper pressure chamber 13. The water drained from the upper pressure chamber 13 is regulated by the regulating valve provided at the halfway part of the drain pipe 7 and is then discharged into a drain vessel 19. Thus, the outflow of a large amount of the clean pressure water is prevented by the regulating valve, namely, the consumption of the clean water is limited to be low.
