Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of secondary battery due to overcharge, sudden charge or the like, by notifying the termination of charging of secondary battery by solar battery. CONSTITUTION:When a secondary battery 2 is charged by a solar battery 1, the termination of charging of the battery 2 is detected by a detection circuit 7 which detects the potential difference between the batteries 1 and 2. As a result, functions consuming large power, such as display of clock function circuit 3, are resumed through the circuit 7, and the termination is notified by sound signal through a speaker 8, different movement of the second hand from the usual movement, flickering of display, or other special means of display. Therefore, overcharge of the secondary battery may be prevented, and the secondary battery may be always kept in a nearly completely charged state. Hence, deterioration of secondary battery due to overcharge or sudden charge may be prevented.
