Abstract
PURPOSE: To insert various sizes of paper into a relatively small device so that a single feeder may be applied to a common use, while simplifying the mechanism, by providing a fixing device, which is operative to selectively fix a plurality of copy paper receiving container, at a paper feeding section.
CONSTITUTION: The guide rails 11, which are disposed at the both sides and in the vicinity of a paper feeding section while taking an upright position, are operative to guide a number of paper feed cassettes while the latter are accommodated inbetween, and are formed at their center with a curved passage 12 directed toward the paper feeding section. The cassette 20 is equipped at its both side walls 21 with rollers 24 which are brought into sliding engagement with the guide rails 11 so that the cassette 20 can be moved up and down. A magnet 23 for indicating the size of the copy paper is buried in a suitable position of the front wall 22 of the cassette 20. A magnetic sensor 32 is disposed in the end wall of the paper feeding section, which is in contact with the front wall 22. Thus, the size of the paper used can be detected. As a result, it is possible to improve the paper feeding performance by the common use of the single paper feeding device.
