Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a heat-shrinkable composite tube having high workability and reliable qualities, by coating the inner surface of a heat-shrinkable tube with an adhesive having higher softening point than the above heat-shrinkable material in stripes with proper intervals. CONSTITUTION:The inner surface of a heat-shrinkable tube 1a, e.g. tube of a crystalline ethylene-propylene copolymer having a softening point of about 80 deg.C, is covered with stripes 1b, 1b, of an adhesive material such as an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having a softening point of about 95 deg.C to obtain the objective heat-shrinkable composite tube 1. The composite tube 1 is put on an article to be covered 2, and shrunk from one end by applying hot air of about 130-150 deg.C. The adhesive layers 1b, etc. are brought into close contact with the outer surface of the article 2, and the gaps S between the adhesive strips are successively filled with the adhesive while letting the air between the tube and the article escape through the gaps S.
