Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect leakage, by short-circuiting the detection conductor having insulation rings inserted like a string of beads between the transport pipe and the heat insulating part to protect said pipe and the conductor disposed inside the heat insulating part by virtue of the capilarity of leaking liquid metal.
CONSTITUTION: An heat insulating part 5 is provided, with a certain spacing preserved, around a piping 4 in which liquid metal (Na) passes, and a detection conductor 1 having insulation rings 12 threaded like a string of beads on a core 11 is provided in said spacing along the piping, being connected to a terminal 31 of a terminal part 3. Inside the heat insulating part 5 is provided a conductor 6, which is connected, from the inside, to a terminal 32 of the terminal part 3 by way of the side of the heat insulating part 5 and the outside thereof. Being thus constituted, if Na leaks, Na fills the spacing of the insulation rings 12 due to the capillarity, so that the core 11 of the detection conductor 1 and the conductor 6 may be short- circuited. This short-circuit signal is detected at the terminal part 3, so that leakage of the metal fluid Na may be noticed.
