Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish automatic adjustment of battery charging voltage according to anbient temperature by detecting thereof with a temperature measuring element utilizing the fact that the charging capacity of the battery during the cold season increases in proportion to the level of charging voltage.
CONSTITUTION: When the anbient temperature is at the normal level, a temperature measuring element 8 has a high resistance value, where with a relay 9 off, a contact 91 is closed. Thus, lower voltage of a transformer 1 is applied to a rectifying circuit. As the ambient temperature lowers, the temperature measuring element reduces in resistance value until the relay 9 is turned on. Consequantly, while a contact 91 is turned off, with a contact 92 on, the charging voltage of a battery 7 rises. On the other hand, when the ambient temperature returns to the normal, the temperature measuring element goes back to a high resistance value and the relay is turned off. Accordingly, the charging voltage of the battery lowers.
