Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize the exhaust gas heat content effectively and reduce largely the amount of exhaust gas discharged from a furnace by using a major portion of exhaust gas after heat recorvery as a substitute for nitrogen, mixing it with pure oxygen, and circulating the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas from a heating furnace 1 is directed into a waste heat recovery means 5 so as to use the gas as a heat source for generating steam or the like and to lower the temperature of the gas to an air preheating temperature. Pure oxygen is boosted by a circulation fan 6 and fed through a pure oxygen feed pipe 9 into a gas mixer 10, where it is mixed with the exhaust gas. The mixtue is fed as a combustion gas into a burner 7 of the furnace 1 and mixed with a fuel which is fed through a fuel feed pipe 8. The reuse of a major portion of exhaust gas enables effective utilization of the exhaust gas heat content and largely reduces the amount of exhaust gas discharged to the outside of the furnace, reducing public nuissance.
