Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the amt. of fuel used and enhance plating adherence by blowing controlled combustion air into the preheating chamber of a non-oxidation furnace to burn the unburned component of combustion exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: Preheating chamber 2 of directly firing type non-oxidation furnace 1 used in continuous galvanizing, etc. is provided with a suitable no. of air blowing nozzles 14. Unburned component detector 15 such as CO meter is attached to the flue part of exhaust gas exhaust port 3, and the detected value is sent to controller 16 to calculate the vol. of O2 required to perfectly burning an unburned component, i.e. the vol. of air. By controlling flow rate regulation valve 17, combustion air is blown into chamber 2 from nozzles 14 with air fan 13. Since the unburned component of exhaust gas is burned in chamber 2, the flow rate of fuel gas in furnace 1 can be reduced. Rolling oil adhered to strip 6 can be removed by burning in chamber 2, so gas cleanability and plating adherence of a sheet are enhanced.
