Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible highly accurate positioning by writing the position information to each track of a tape disc, comparing the same with the track position information from a servo disc at the track follow-up controlling and correcting the track position information from the servo disc.
CONSTITUTION: The signal from a track position write information generating circuit 49 is written in the track position information recording region of a tape disc via write driving circuit 51. Next, a data head 48 is moved to the track desired to be moved. When track follow-up control is started, the signal from a data track positin deviation quantity detecting circuit 53 and the signal from a track positin deviation quantity detecting circuit 57 by a servo disc are compared in a track position deviation correcting circuit 58, whereby the signal from the track position deviation quantity detecting circuit 57 by the servo disc is corrected so that it becomes equal to the signal value from the data track position deviation quantity detecting circuit 53.
