Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:SF-2050B substance and its salts. Properties thereof are as follows: dibasic acid which moves to the anode side in high-voltage paper electrophoresis at pH6.4, and shows the relative mobility of 1.58 when the mobility of cephamycin A is taken as 1.0; Na salt thereof obtained from an aqueous solution by freeze drying is white powder; easily soluble in water, moderately soluble in CH3OH, and slightly soluble in ethyl acetate, CHCl3 and benzene; UV absorption peaks in an aqueous solution, 228 nm and 305 nm; elemental analysis: C 33.5%, H 3.9%, N 5.7%, S 13.8%; etc.
USE: Antibiotics effective to bacteria resistance to known antibiotics.
PROCESS: SF-2050B substance-producing fungi belonging streptomyces genus (FERM-P No.4358) are cultured, and the SF-2050B substance or its salts are separated from the culture solution.
