Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically perform the aligning of the optical paths of a laser oscillator and a transmission path by sweep-servo-controlling the position of the optical transmission path based on the storage contents of the position of the optical transmission path at the maximum output detecting of the laser light propagating in the optical transmission path.
CONSTITUTION: Laser light from a semiconductor laser oscillator 1 propagates in the optical transmission path 5 provided to a manipulator 6 driven by the sweep signal and is received in a photoelectric transducer 9. The maximum output detection value of the device 9 through a maximum output detector 28 is applied to a memory 27 and the signal corresponding to the position of the manipulator 6 detected with position detectors 23, 24 at the detection point of the maximum output is stored in the memory 27. According to this memory value, when the manipulator 6 is sweep-servo-controlled by controlling the opening and closing of the switch SW between the sweep signal generators 21, 22 and servo mechanisms 11, 12, the aligning of the optical axes between the oscillator 1 and optical transmission path 5 may be readily, accurately and automatically accomplished.
