Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase generated power and reduce the equipment cost of a low temperature utilizing system, by utilizing the low temperature of liquefied natural gas to evaporate it with an evaporator.
CONSTITUTION: To reduce power necessary for compression by a compressor C, nitrogen gas is cooled by the LNG evaporator V to the vicinity of the lowest temperature of the LNG and compressed by the compressor C to predetermined pressure and heat-exchanged by a heat recovery unit R with the outlet gas of an expander E so that the nitrogen gas is heated. The evaporator V can handle three fluides. A natural gas expander E' is connected to the compressor C, the expander E and an electric generator G. The natural gas evaporated by the evaporator V is expanded by the expander E' to obtain power. The natural gas discharged from the expander E' is heat-exchanged again by the evaporator V so that the natural gas is supplied through an outlet pipe Lo.
