Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption receivers, by lowering the power supply voltage fed automatically to the receivers, when input electric field is strong, in the lower power consumption receivers such as portable radio units. CONSTITUTION:The reception electric field detctor 6 inputting the output intermediate frequency signal of the frequency converter 1 performing frequency conversion of the reception signal inputted from the antenna 9 and detecting the received electric field of the input reception signal, is provided, and the output of the detector 6 is fed to the DC-DC voltage converter 7 which supplies power supply voltage V to the local oscillator 6 of the receiver, frequency converter 1, intermediate frequency amplifier 3, detector and low frequency amplifier 4, and received electric field detector, by inputting the power from the battery 8. Further, when the electric field of received signal is strong, the output of the detector 6 is increased, and the output voltage of the voltage converter 7 is lowered than the voltage normally fed, allowing to reduce the power consumption of the battery 8 consuming with the receiver.
