Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a multiplicity of magnetic head cores to be readily volume produced by forming a groove in the column center direction on the side face of a square column form core material then plurally dividing the core material in the direction of inclining to said groove. CONSTITUTION:First, a nearly square column form core material 11 is prepared and a groove 12 in the column center direction is formed, making an intermediate work 13 of U-form in section. Next, both side parts of the groove 12 are removed to make an intermediate work 15 having sharp-angled portions 141, 142, after which the intermediate work 15 is cut like imaginary lines in the direction inclining to its groove 12, whereby a magnetic head core 1 for vertical magnetization recording is obtained. This method enables volume production to be performed extremely easily.
