Abstract

PURPOSE: To get an endurable heating element, by blasing the surface of a heat radiant body made of heat and corrosion resisting alloy, Incolloy, for precipitating chrome and then oxidazing the chrome.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of an infrared radiant heater 1 is blasted with aluminum particles and then heat-treated in an inactive atmosphere such as argon and helium to precipitate chrome contained in Incolloy. The chrome thus precipitated on the surface is oxidized in a hot oxidizing atmosphere to get an infrared radiant heater superior in life expectancy.
