Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable detection of ice forming condition, by setting a thermometer and hygrometer at the temperature and humidity under which overcooled water drops exist, and judging presence of snow deposit or ice when the measured temperature is below the set value and the measured humidity is above the set value.
CONSTITUTION: A temperature detector 1 detects the temperature and sends the temperature signal to a controller 2, which closes a switch 3 when the temperature is below the set value. A humidity detector 4 detects the humidity and sends the humidity signal to a controller 5, which closes a switch 6 when the humidity is above the set value. Only when both switches 3 and 6 are closed, a circuit 9 is closed, and power is supplied from a power source 8 into a heater 7. This circuit 9 is not closed when either switch 3 or 6 is closed. Since the ice forming condition is established only when both the temperature and humidity conditions are satisfied by measuring both, the ice forming condition may be securely detected before ice is formed on object. Hence, when it is applied to ice preventive device, ice forming may be prevented with a minimum of energy required.
