Abstract

PURPOSE: To early discover the troubles of seal devices, by each mounting the seal devices to the upper and lower end portions of a transfer pipe for communicating an upper fuel pool and a lower fuel pool while installing a water-level detector to a by-path line of the transfer pipe.
CONSTITUTION: An upper seal device 19 is mounted to an opening portion of an upper end of a transfer pipe 13, and a lower seal device 24, which seals a flange 22 and consists of a lower vessel 23 that can house a container 15, is installed to the lower end portion. A water-level detector is arranged in such a manner that a by- path pipe 26 is mounted over a lower portion from an upper portion of the transfer pipe 13 and a plurality of reed switches 27 are installed to the outside. Water- level in the transfer pipe is detected all the time by the operation of the reed switches, and the troubles of the upper and lower seal devices can early be discovered, thus preventing serious accidents.
