Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition having improved water and corrosion resistance, and stability, by adding a solvent as a dispersing auxiliary to a specific alkyd resin modified by a polyoxyethylene glycol, followed by neutralizing the resin and by dispersing it into water.
CONSTITUTION: A water-dispersed resin composition is obtained by adding B) 5W 50 parts by wt. of a water-soluble solvent to A) 100 parts by wt of an alkyd resin modified by a polyoxyethylene glycol, having an acid value not more than 20, obtained by reacting a) 0W60 parts by wt. of an oil or a fatty acid, with b) 10W50 parts by wt. of a polyhydric alcohol having 2W6 hydroxyl groups in one molecule (excluding the component f), c) 0W25 parts by wt. of a monobasic acid having 6W 18 carbon atoms in one molecule, d) 15W70 parts by wt. of a polyacid having 4W10 carbon atoms in one molecule or its anhydride, e) an epoxy compound, and f) a polyoxyethylene glycol having a molecular weight of 600W20,000, followed by neutralizing partly or wholly carboxyl groups in the ingredient A, and by dispersing the resin into water.
