Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain portamento effect tones by providing means of adding correction values to the abovementioned change frequency information numerical values at specified timings and forming new change frequency information numerical values.
CONSTITUTION: With the change frequency information numerical value F' being inputted to the B input end of a subtractor 14 as a current value and the numerical value being inputted to the A input end of the subtractor 14 as a target value FB, the value corresponding to the difference between this target value FB and the current value F' is subsequently added as correction value to the current value F' each time when portamento clock PCL is generated, whereby the current value F' is subsequently changed. Such operation is repeatedly performed until the current value F' coincides with the target value FB, i.e., until the value of the differntial signal outputted from the subtractor 14 becomes zero, whereby the change frequency information numerical values F' changing subsequently from the start value FA toward the target value Fa are formed and by using these subsequently changing change frequency information numerical values F', the pitch controlling of the musical tones being produced is accomplished. Thereby, portamento effect tones are obtainable from a sound system 7.
