Abstract

PURPOSE: To lengthen the fatigue fracture life of a nut, by making the diameter of the thread bottom uniform and by tapering the tapped hole of the nut over at least two threads.
CONSTITUTION: The diameter D1 of the bottom of the thread 5 of the nut 1 is uniform. The tapped hole of the nut is tapered at 1/10W1/4 so that the tapped hole diverges toward the clamped member 3. Thereby, the fatigue fracture life of the nut is raised at the tapered part. The fatigue fracture life is about twice longer than that of conventional nut.
