Abstract
PURPOSE:To carry out overaging at a suitable temp. and simply obtain the title strip of good quality by keeping each process under an atmosphere of inert or reducing gas and automatically controlling the temp. of a quenching section to prevent oxidation of the strip. CONSTITUTION:Each process from one-side plating section 1 to cooling section 8 is kept under an atmosphere of non-oxidizing gas, and the detecting end of temp. measuring unit 10 is provided within 3 m/m from the surface of a steel strip in the vicinity of roll 15 at the outlet side of quenching section 6. The temp. detected is sent to regulator 12 of temp. setting unit 11, and dampers 13 of jet coolers are opened or closed at automatically control the temp. of the plates in section 6 to 350-400 deg.C. Since the relation between the detecting end temp. and the plate temp. is actually measured in advance, a suitable temp. can be set in unit 11. A one-side galvanized steel strip is controlled to the above temp., passed through overaging furnace 7 and cooler 8, and taken out. Thus, oxidation of the iron side of the strip is prevented, and the title strip of good quality is manufactured.
