Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the safety and economize energy, by evaporating and concentrating a radioactive waste liquid in a steam-heating disposal unit.
CONSTITUTION: The radioactive waste liquid is introduced into an evaporating can 1 through a supply pipe 2. Then, the waste liquid is heated and evaporated by steam supplied from an external boiler to a steam pipe 5 at the beginning of operation. When the waste liquid has become evaporated well, a stop valve 5 is closed. Then, a compressor 7 is started to pressurize the vapor of the waste liquid to high pressure and temperature. The vapor of high pressure and temperature is supplied to a heat exchange 8 to heat the waste liquid. Thereafter, the vapor is conducted to a condenser etc. through a stop valve 9 and a discharge pipe 10.
EFFECT: Since a heat exchanger for the time of starting of operation and a heat exchanger for stationary operation are separately provided, the external boiler is not contaminated by radioactivity.
