Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a narrow band pass filter as a simle but highly efficient one by reflecting an incident light several times between mirrors which are arranged to face each other and which have different wavelength and reflection characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: A mirror M1 has a reflection factor of 5 % for wavelengthes shorter than λ1 and of 99 % for wavelengthes longer than λ2, whereas a mirror M2 has a reflection factor of 99 % for wavelenthes shorter than λ3 and of 5 % for wavelengthes longer than λ4. Those mirrors M1 and M2 are arranged to face each other so that incident light P1 is reflected several times inbetween and is converted into an emanating light P2. Thus, the light having wavelengthes sorter than λ1 and longer than λ4 is blocked, whereas the light having wavelengthes between λ2 and λ3 is allowed to transmit so that the ratio between the transmissive band light and the blocked band light of the emanating light P2 is so increased to improve the characteristics as the band pass filter.
