Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily establish night display without damage, by placing the reflection plate coating radioactive isotope at the back of the straight line polarized plate at the rear side of nematic liquid crystal display element.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of the reflection plate 9 coating the fluorescent substance 8 including the radioactive isotope, prometium 147(P147 m) is provided with the protective film 7 for the surface, and it is located at the back of the straightline polarized plate at the rear side of the display element 1. P147 m radiates only β rays without radiant contamination, and it si suitable for the life of product using conventional liquid crystal display device for the half-life, an since it is not gas, no fear to damage the package, easy manufacture, and ease of maintenance for night usage can be established.
