Abstract

PURPOSE: To cure a bismaleimide rapidly without using a radical generator, by adding a specific alkenylphenol monomer, etc. thereto as a curing accelerator.
CONSTITUTION: A curable composition comprising (A) a bismaleimide I (R1 and R3 are H or alkyl; R2 is ≥2C divalent group), e.g. maleic acid-N, N'-ethylene- bismaleimide, etc., (B) an alkenylphenol monomer II (R4 and R5 are H or alkyl: X is H, halogen, carboxyl, etc.; Y is H, alkyl, acyl, etc.; x and y are 0 or positive integer; z is positive integer; x+y+z≤5) and/or its linear dimer as a curing accelerator, and if necessary (C) other vinyl monomers, e.g. styrene, etc. The curable composition is added to a radically polymerizable unsaturated polymer or oligomer.
