CONSTITUTION: Carbon fibers are impregnated with a matrix resin having ethylenically unsaturated groups as crosslinkable and curable groups, which is crosslinked and cured in the presence of N,N'-diglycidylaniline (D) or its derivative. 0.5W15 wt. % based on the matrix resin of D preliminarily impregnated into the carbon fibers gives the highest interlaminar shear strength of the composite material. Addition of benzoyl peroxide or its derivative as a peroxide together with D gives improved interlaminar shear and flexural strengths.
