Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent corrosion of titanium material cheaply and simply by spraying a metal such as nickel showing lower electric potential than that of titanium upon a space-forming part of equipment, e.g. flange part. CONSTITUTION:The joining faces of titanium flanges 1,1 are sprayed 2,2 with nickel or stainless steel and clamped with clamps 4 through packing 3. In case a heat exchanger, etc. is constituted with titanium tube sheet 5 and titanium tube 6, the outside of tube 6 and/or the inside of the through hole of sheet 5 are sprayed 2 with nickel or stainless steel prior to joining tube 6 to sheet 5.
