PURPOSE: To provide a method of separating the upper, supernatant fluid from the remaining fluid of a fluid specimen comprising the steps of mounting on an upper and a lower rotor a sedimentation tube containing therein a fluid specimen to be separated and a sedimentation tube which is empty, respectively, separating the specimen centrifugally, inclining the sedimentation tube on the upper rotor side to pour the supernatant fluid therein into the sedmentation tube on the lower rotor side.
