Abstract

PURPOSE: To develop an austenite-based steel capable of minimizing deterioration of its quality at high temperatures for a long period of time by adding 4.5 to 6% of Al to a Ni-Cr steel to form a film composed mainly of Al2O3 at high temperatures in an oxidizing atomosphere, whereby its oxidation resistance is heightened and deposition of AlN is prevented.
