Abstract
PURPOSE: p-Phenylenediamine is prepared in high yield with two-stage process by the hydrogenolysis of 4, 4'-dinitroazobenzeno obtained by nitrating azobenzene with nitric acid, with molecular hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst.
