Claims (3)
着脱可能に装着される給紙カセットと、この給紙カセッ
トに収納された記録紙の束から１枚の記録紙を分離し、
給紙カセットの外部に送出する分離給紙手段と、この分
離給紙手段により送出された記録紙を、略Ｕ字状に湾曲
した反転部が形成された紙搬送路に沿って搬送する搬送
手段と、この搬送手段により前記紙搬送路における所定
の記録位置に搬送されてきた記録紙に画像を記録する画
像記録手段と、この画像記録手段により画像が記録され
た記録紙を、装置本体に設けられた排紙部上に排紙する
排紙手段とを備えた画像記録装置において、 前記給紙カセットで記録紙を収納する筐体状のカセット
本体に、紙長方向で摺動可能に支持され、前記カセット
本体に収納される記録紙の紙長に対応する位置に摺動し
てカセット本体の全長を可変するスライド部を設け、 前記排紙部を、前記給紙カセットで前記カセット本体の
上面を塞ぐカセット蓋により構成し、 該カセット蓋を、前記スライド部による延伸部分を少な
くとも含むカセット本体の後端部を塞ぐ位置に移動可能
にするとともに、カセット本体の後端部を塞ぐ位置に移
動したカセット蓋が、前記排紙手段により排紙された記
録紙を受け止め、かつ保持することを特徴とする画像記
