Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the verification of the fiber cable gauge of an optical fiber by providing a plurality of through holes to transmit out-going light from the optical fiber and a plurality of light shielding parts to shield the out-going light for housing holes housing one ends of a plurality of optical fibers. SOLUTION: This jig 10 for verifying fiber cable gauge is provided with housing holes 15 to house one ends of a plurality of placed optical fibers individually. The housing holes 15 are provided with a plurality of through holes 16 to transmit incident- out-going light from the optical fibers and a plurality of light shielding parts to shield the out-going light. For example, the second one and the fourth one from the top are used as the through holes 16, and blank caps 17 are inserted into the first one and the third one to be the light shielding parts. In the case of verifying the fiber cable gauge of multi-fiber cable optical connector in the state that the first and second optical fibers are misplaced in wiring, when light is passed through the first optical fiber, light which should not be seen, is seen by transmission through the second through hole 16. By this, it is verified that the first optical fiber is misplaced, and fiber cable gauge failure is detected.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The wire number defect is such that light is sequentially incident on each of the optical fibers mounted on the multi-core optical connector one by one, and the position of the light emitted from the end face of the optical fiber exposed at the end of the multi-core optical connector is determined. This is done by visual observation. However, since the arrangement interval of the end faces of the optical fibers exposed at the end of the multi-core optical connector is narrow, it is extremely difficult to check the number of the optical fiber that emits light from the end. The confirmation required a great deal of effort and hindered productivity. The present invention provides a wire number checking jig for a multi-core optical connector which can easily check wire numbers of a plurality of optical fibers mounted on the multi-core optical connector, and a wire number checking method using the jig. With the goal.

Next, a method of detecting a wire number defect using the wire number checking jig 10 shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 3 (a) shows a multi-fiber optical connector 20 in which the first and second optical fibers 41 and 42 are inserted in the second and first grooves (not shown) and wired. This shows a case where the determination of the line number is determined. As shown in FIG. 4A, the wire number checking jig 10
The blind hole 17 is provided in the second storage hole 15. When the jig 10 passes light through the first optical fiber 41, the light that should not be seen passes through the second through-hole 16 and can be seen, indicating that the first optical fiber 41 has been misplaced.
Wire number failure is detected. In FIG. 3A, reference numerals 43 and 44 denote optical fibers which are normally wired.

FIG. 3B shows that the first, second, and third optical fibers 41, 42, and 43 are wired in the second, third, and first grooves (not shown), respectively. This shows a case in which the wire number confirmation of the multi-fiber optical connector 20 indicating the state is determined. The wire number checking jig 10 is shown in FIG.
The blind plug 17 is provided in the first and third storage holes 15 as shown in FIG. When light passes through the first optical fiber 41, the jig 10 transmits light that should not be seen in the same manner as in FIG. A defect is detected.

FIG. 3C shows the first and third optical fibers.
41 and 43 show the case where the wire number of the multi-fiber optical connector 20 is determined to be in a state where the wires are inserted in the third groove (not shown) and the first groove (not shown). The wire number checking jig 10 has blind plugs 17 provided in the first and third storage holes 15 as shown in FIG. Although the jig 10 does not detect a wire number defect of the multi-core optical connector 20 for checking the wire number, as shown in FIG. 4B, the blind plug 17 is inserted into the first and fourth storage holes 15 of the jig 10. When light is allowed to pass through the first optical fiber 41 and light that should not be seen is transmitted through the third through hole 16, a wire number defect is detected. Normally, the wire numbers are interchanged between adjacent optical fibers, and a large interchange such as jumping over one groove as shown in FIGS. 3B and 3C rarely occurs.

Conventionally, a faulty wire number of an optical fiber in a multi-core optical connector is caused by transmitting light one by one to a plurality of optical fibers arranged in sequence and exposing the end face of the optical fiber exposed at the opposite end of the multi-core optical connector. Was visually detected as to which light was emitted, but in the present invention, the light incident on the optical fiber is detected based on whether or not the light passes through the through hole of the jig, so the wire number defect is extremely low. It can be easily detected.

In the above embodiment, the light shielding portion for shielding the light emitted from the optical fiber at the predetermined position is provided in the through hole by using a blind plug. It is only necessary that the light emitted from the optical fiber is shielded, so that the light may be shielded from the beginning without providing a through hole.

As described above, according to the present invention, a plurality of through-holes for individually passing out the light emitted from each optical fiber are provided, and a light-shielding portion for shielding the light emitted from the optical fiber at a predetermined position is provided. The jig body provided with the jig is arranged on the light emitting end face of the multi-core optical connector so that light emitted from the optical connector passes through the through hole of the jig. Since the wire number defect is detected depending on whether or not the wire passes through the through hole, the wire number defect can be easily detected, and the productivity is improved.

A plurality of optical fibers attached to one end of a plurality of optical fibers with a multi-core optical connector, and the other end of the plurality of optical fibers are attached to the multi-core optical connector. A jig for checking the wire number of the multi-core optical connector having storage holes for individually storing the other ends of the multi-core optical connector is disposed, and the wire numbers of the plurality of optical fibers attached to the multi-core optical connector are determined. A wire number confirmation method of the multi-core optical connector, wherein the light emitted from the optical fiber incident from the multi-core optical connector is individually stored in the accommodation hole of the wire number confirmation jig. An optical fiber mounted on the multi-core optical connector, wherein a plurality of through-holes for transmitting light and a light-shielding portion for shielding light emitted from an optical fiber at a predetermined position among the plurality of optical fibers are provided. Depending on whether or not the light incident on the A wire number confirmation method for a multi-core optical connector, comprising confirming wire numbers of a plurality of optical fibers attached to the multi-core optical connector.
