Let's be clear.
(Brief description of drawings)
FIG. 1 is an enlarged simplified explanatory view of a carbon-carbon composite heat exchanger according to the present invention.
You.
(Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention)
Referring to the drawings, heat exchanger 10 has a plurality of flat, flat surfaces, preferably having a rectangular shape.
The plate 11 is provided. The heat exchanger is a layer in which fluids 13 and 14 such as air are alternately stacked
It is configured to flow between. In this case, one fluid 13 flows between the plates 11a and 11b.
While another fluid 14 flows between the plates 11b, 11c. Partitioned by plate 11
These two flow paths are connected to the high-temperature flow path 19 here.
And the low-temperature channel 20. The second flow path 20 is provided for the flow of the first fluid 13 in the first flow path 19.
It is optimally oriented to form a flow of the second fluid 14 across it. First
And second flow paths 19, 20 are also arranged in parallel to provide a parallel flow configuration of the convection heat exchanger.
I can turn. At this time, it is necessary to add a special device to assist in entering and exiting the flow path.
In a preferred embodiment, the plates 11 are stacked and alternately arranged on the first and second flow paths 19, 20.
And the resulting laminate as a whole has the desired heat transfer or heat exchange
It is provided to obtain a function.
The fins 12 are preferably formed on a sheet-like base, separating adjacent plates 11.
And separate each flow path. Usually the fins 12 are wavy and preferably the entire sheet
Over a continuous and uniform structure. And each fin 12 is substantially inserted into the fluid.
Has a substantially flat heat transfer surface 12a, and the plane of the fin 12 is parallel to the fluid flow direction.
The flow resistance of the fluid can be minimized. Sheet fin 12 is fluid
Alternative configurations can be used to increase heat transfer from the heat exchanger to the heat exchanger material. The surface composition changes horizontally.
The fins 12 are corrugated in the direction of flow, and the fins 12 have holes.
Or a rough surface or a rubet shape. The wavy fins 12 are adjacent
And can be formed into an integral structure by adhering to the plates.
To explain the operation, the first and second channels flowing in the first and second flow paths 19 and 20 will be described.
Fluids 13 and 14 are used to facilitate heat transfer from one flow path to the other flow path.
Can be at different temperatures. For example, the first fluid 13 is made hotter than the second fluid 14
.
When this hot fluid 13 flows through the first flow path 19, heat is transferred from the fluid to the first fin 12.
And to the first fin 12 and further to the plates 11a, 11b. The heat
It is transmitted from the second plate 11b to the fin 12 in the flow path 20 and to the low temperature fluid 14.
. The second fluid 14 exits the heat exchanger 10 and transfers the heat exchanged heat from the heat exchanger 10 to the outside.
The moving, continuous hot fluid stream is continuously cooled and continuously cooled to a cold fluid
You.
According to the present invention, it is possible to adopt a carbon-carbon composite material having high thermal conductivity.
This facilitates heat transfer between the two fluids. Carbon / carbon composites have anisotropic properties
, The heat transfer is further enhanced. Reducing the density of this material reduces weight
Can be reduced.
The two fluids not only have unequal temperatures, but also different pressures. Plate 11 thickness
Is structurally well integrated between the channels 19 and 20 and minimizes weight, adversely affecting heat transfer
It is necessary to make it thin enough not to affect the sound. The thickness of the plate is
Since the plate is bent by the fluid pressure difference between 20, set in consideration of this pressure difference
There is a need to. If the distance between the fins 12 is reduced,
Smaller cross-sectional area. The structural integrity is therefore enhanced by the fins 12
The gate 11 is kept flat.
The purpose of a heat exchanger is to transfer heat from one fluid to another.
When the high-temperature fluid is introduced into the flow path 19 as shown in the drawing, the inlet end of the flow path 19 exits.
It gets hotter than the mouth. Similarly, the low-temperature fluid introduced into the flow path 19 has a low temperature at the inlet.
is there
Is heated at the exit. The corner where the high temperature fluid is introduced and the low temperature fluid is
In the part 22, the temperature is higher than the opposite corner 24 where the low temperature fluid is introduced and the high temperature fluid is discharged.
Become. Such heat gradients within the heat exchanger structure reduce the amount of heat that can be transferred.
You. In the case of metal heat exchangers, the hot part expands more than the cold part, so that
Stresses that adversely affect the life of the heat exchanger are reduced. Change operating conditions to
The repeated temperature cycling caused by turning on and off
The product repeatedly expands and contracts, further reducing strength or life.
In the manufacturing process, the carbon-carbon composite heat exchanger has multiple cores.
In a continuous process. The first step is a thin layer made of carbon fiber material
Is made of unidirectional fiber or woven or matte material, this layer is made of high carbon
Impregnated with carbonized yield resin. The impregnated material is then formed into flat parallel plates 11
To achieve. And also the fins 12 can be wavy, discontinuous or perforated,
The plate 11 is provided to prevent the introduction of the two fluids 13 and 14 without leakage. Step
The rate 11 and the fin 12 are adjusted until a core laminated heat exchanger 10 of a desired size is formed.
Laminate alternately. Used between each layer using another resin with high carbon carbon yield
Thus, the plate 11 and the fin 12 can be joined. If necessary, use a suitable end
Leakage of the flow path in addition to the core portion can be prevented, and a structure having higher strength can be provided. And product
The layer core is then processed into a carbon-carbon composite through a plurality of steps. these
Is a carbonization process that converts resin into carbon, and a porous structure by chemical vapor deposition (CVD).
Compression into a structure and heat to convert the carbon or graphite into the desired crystalline structure
It includes, but is not limited to, a process (1600-2800 ° C.). this
The carbon-carbon composite structure obtained by the method has the desired high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion.
Has a tensile coefficient and low corrosiveness. Repeat one or more of the above steps as desired
Characteristic can be obtained.
In addition, the CVD method uses a high-yield thermoplastic resin such as a phenolic resin and contains it repeatedly.
It can be replaced by an immersion cycle. These steps are repeated until the desired properties are obtained.
Will be restored.
To improve the performance and longevity of the heat exchanger, select carbon carbon
Use composite materials. Fibers used in the construction of carbon-carbon composites
A wide range of thermally conductive materials is currently available. Further carbon / carbon composite
The material can be made anisotropic or isotropic depending on the orientation of the fibers within the material. Isotropic
The material conducts substantially evenly along all three orthogonal axes X, Y, Z, while the anisotropic material
Are mostly conducting along the first axis, such as the Z axis, and more along the other Y, X axes.
Conducts in a small range.
In the parallel plate heat exchanger according to the present invention, the direction between the two plates 11 (Z axis)
The orientation of the highly conductive fins 12 in the orientation is important. Plate conductivity on this axis
Affects the performance, but the cross-sectional area is large and the heating channel length (plate thickness) is extremely small.
This is not as important as the fin conductivity. Conduction path on Z axis
Uses highly conductive anisotropic carbon-carbon composite material and has a low
Conductive, anisotropic material
Used, the conductive plate minimizes the heat flowing through the material from the hot corners to the cold corners.
Such orientation maximizes performance. Carbon / carbon composite
Another very important advantage to use is that the coefficient of thermal expansion of carbon
Is much lower than the coefficient of thermal expansion of the metals in
Is to significantly reduce power.
According to the invention, the heat flux is obtained in the same heat exchanger made of metal
Many different carbon fiber and polymer resin precursors
Carbon-carbon composite material is compact and parallel plate regardless of isotropic and anisotropic
It has been found that it can be selected to produce a heat exchanger. The spirit of the present invention and
Without departing from the scope, various design changes defined in the following claims can be considered.
Will be understood by those skilled in the art.
In addition to the fin configuration and the channel configuration described above, the heat exchanger has a shape other than the illustrated rectangular shape.
Therefore, cylindrical, circular and conical heat exchangers can also be configured within the scope of the present invention.
