Detailed description of the invention
Regarding the first aspect, an example of an element comprising a filament is a filament
This is a braid that includes a mixture of groups. The group of filaments is generally flat,
Filaments are placed in parallel. That is, the first column of the group is
Interlaced with two rows, one row is generally perpendicular to the other. Mixing is generally
This includes superimposing one group vertically at a right angle with the corresponding group.
Is the braid at an angle of 5 to 75 degrees to a line drawn conceptually vertically along the core?
Wrapped around the core at an appropriate angle selected from the above. This angle is preferably 40
Degrees to 50 degrees.
As another method of braiding, winding of a filament is used. That is,
Lamentes are wrapped around each other around the core, but not interlocked.
No.
Alternatively, a filament tape or sheet is wrapped around a core
You.
In another method, a tape or sheet of conductive filaments is woven.
In yet another method, a pre-woven bag of filament is placed over the core.
You.
In yet another method, a heat-shrinkable sleeve containing a conductive plastic material is non-conductive.
It is placed around a conductive core and then shrinks to form a conductive rod.
The solid core is preferably associated with a reinforcing material such as glass fiber or carbon fiber.
Or an impregnated polymer material.
Generally speaking, the conductivity is on the surface of the rod antenna. Surface conductivity is carbon
Provided using fibers, metal or metal-coated fibers.
Metal-coated fibers are, for example, nickel-plated, silver-plated or aluminum-plated.
Um. The fibers themselves are, for example, glass fibers.
The metal fiber is, for example, stainless steel, copper or aluminum.
The solid core is preferably formed by pultrusion, which is a fibrous reinforcement
A continuous strand of material is placed in a resin tank, heated mold, drawing station and last
This is a step of pulling through a cutting unit.
The carbon fiber, metal coated fiber or metal fiber may be a suitable core, e.g., glass fiber.
Pultruded on fiber, carbon fiber, Kevlar fiber or boron fiber.
These fibers are oriented or knitted in the machine direction to achieve the desired tensile stress,
Provides strength and flexibility. Fiber tensile strength depends on its conductivity and desirable flexibility
Selected by gender.
Resin base material is one or more polyester, one or more vinyl esters
Or it contains a thermosetting resin mixture.
For example, graphite flakes and / or powder, nickel or silver plated carbon
Conductivity is increased by adding conductive particles such as particles to the resin mixture.
Sometimes.
The pultrusion method is preferred, but for example combining pultrusion with braid
A matched method can also be used. Other suitable methods of manufacturing antenna rods include
Injection molding using fiber strips and / or particles of the type described above or
Extrusion is included.
The term "rod" as used herein includes round, square and rectangular
For elongate objects of various cross sections.
Preferably, the tensile strength of the rod of three standard deviations below the mean is the modified AST
Exceeds 1200 MPa when tested according to MD-3916.
Preferably, the tensile stress of three standard deviations below the average is ASTM D-39.
Over 50 GPa when tested according to 16.
Preferably, the elongation at break is less than 3%.
Preferably, the installation shear does not exceed 30 mm on a standard installation shear.
Proper memory for rod to return to almost straight position when fully extended
Having.
The rod retains its memory to return to its original shape and recalls the selected shape.
Balancing the flexibility and rigidity of the rods so they can be inserted into spaces or tunnels
It is necessary to let
In a detailed aspect, the material or materials from which the rod is manufactured are metallic, non-metallic
Or a combination of both. For example, the metallic material is pure metal or chrome
Metal or metal-coated fiber. Non-metallic material is carbon fiber
, Carbon mesh or carbon powder. Non-conductive fibers such as glass fibers
Used to form a bed base or core. Pultrusion is non-metallic
Used in constructing rods or metal fibers or metal coated fibers. Metal particles
Conductive particles such as are used to improve conductivity.
It has been discovered that rods according to the present invention reduce wind noise. Antenna jacket
And the rod may be a windshield frame, a roof, a front or rear fender, and / or
It can be located at any suitable location on the vehicle, including the trunk.
Since the rod according to the present invention can be contracted into a small space, the antenna length can be extended.
Still further coverage can be provided.
The antenna according to the invention can be housed in a tube in a vehicle. With this selected rigidity
The tube can be continuously straight, bent into the selected shape, or rolled.
You can also.
The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the outer surface of a metal tube by using polyvinyl chloride, nylon, or polypropylene.
Provide a rigid tube or pipe that is electrically insulating coated with a suitable plastic material such as
Offer. The metal tube is made of stainless steel, copper or
A number of suitable conductive metals.
Tubing is any desired to match the car chassis and various vehicle panels
Formed or bent into shape. This makes installation easier and everything
Antennas can be mounted exactly the same way during vehicle assembly and antenna installation
Consistency is enhanced.
