ル５及びタイトルラベル４５は、図４に示すようにカセ
ット本体１の所定位置に貼られる。テープ残量表示ラベ
ル１１ｂは、図５に示すように、切り込み線に沿って取
扱説明書の裏面５１ａから剥離されることにより、テー
プ長表示部分６１と分離され貫通孔１２が形成される。
そして、テープ残量表示ラベル１１ｂはカセット本体１
の窓３に貼り付けられる。図６に２０分記録，３０分記
録，６０分記録の各テープ共用のテープ残量表示ラベル
１１ｆを示す。このように記録時間の短いテープカセッ
トでは、テープ巻層７の厚みが、１２０分記録等の長時
間記録テープに比べて薄くなるので、径の太いハブ６０
を使用する。テープ巻層７の厚みが薄くなると、ハブ６
０のがたつき等によりテープ残量時間の読み取り誤差が
生じやすくなるので、精度を上げるために、テープ残量
時間０の位置（即ちハブ６０の外周部分６０ａに対応す
る位置）をラベル１１ｆ上で明確にした（数字０と目盛
り線１４ｇ）。これにより、ハブ６０のがたつき等があ
っても、ハブ６０の外周部分６０ａとテープ残量時間０
の目盛り線１４ｇとが一致するようにハブ６０の位置を
合わせてから残量時間を読み取れば、精度よく残量時間
を読み取れる。図３の例で、テープ残量表示ラベル１１
ｂ〜ｅのいずれか一つをラベル１１ｆに置き換えてもよ
いし、ラベル１１ｆをラベル１１ｂ〜ｅに追加してもよ
い。本発明は上記の実施例以外にも、テープ残量表示ラ
ベルを右側の窓用のものとしてもよく、左右の窓のそれ
ぞれにラベルを貼り付けてもよい。また、本発明は、Ｖ
ＨＳ以外の各種の窓付のテープカセットに当然適用でき

る。また、目視エリアが３カ所あるので、窓から目視す
る内部の明るさがラベルを貼る前とほぼ変わりなく、テ
ープ残量が確認しやすい。さらに、残量表示は定量的な
表示である。従って、本発明のテープカセット、及びテ
ープ残量表示ラベルを用いれば、ビデオデッキ等でテー
プ残量を確認するなどの手間を掛ける必要もなく、テー
プカセットを一見するだけで任意のテープ位置における
テープ残量を定量的に明確に把握できる。 （２）複数の異なる定量的な残量表示が、一つのラベル
上で、表示位置を明確に区別して可能となり、使い勝手
が向上する。 （３）残量表示を、テープ残量時間を示す数字と前記数
字に対応する目盛り線にした場合には、より一層誰でも
残量時間を直接的かつ即座に把握できる。 （４）残量表示の目盛り線をテープ巻層の外周線に沿っ
た曲線とした場合や、前記目盛り線をラベル外側周縁線
からラベル内側周縁線である貫通孔周縁線まで延ばして
表示した場合には、より一層、テープ巻層の外周線とラ
ベル上の残量表示との対応を素早く正確に行える。 （５）テープ残量表示ラベルに、貼り付け位置合わせの
目印を設けた場合には、ラベル貼付時の位置合わせが容
易となり、簡単に窓の中央部に貼り付けることができ
