Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain flexibility and excellent follow-up property to external behavior by mixing a flexible resin, rubber powder and natural fiber into a mortar. SOLUTION: An acryl rubber emulsion or a SBR emulsion as a flexible resin, a rubber powder prepared by pulverizing a rubber comprising a well- known resin into <2 mm particle size, and a natural fiber such as sepiolite are mixed as well as a cement, water, aggregate and admixture as the structural elements of a mortar. Thereby, flexibility can be added, however, the amts. of the flexible resin and the rubber powder are controlled not to cause decrease in the strength of the mortar. The amt. of the fiber is controlled not to decrease flexibility to be added to the mortar. When the obtd. mortar is applied onto the surface of a concrete or used for tiling, peeling of the concrete or dropping of tiles can be prevented.

<A> Overall Structure The flexible mortar according to the present invention comprises a softening resin, a rubber powder, and a cement, water, an aggregate, an admixture, etc., which are the components of the conventional mortar. Fibers are mixed. The mortar provided with flexibility by the above configuration was able to hold a shear force of up to 1400 micron in a shear strain test using a tile.

<B> Softening Resin As the softening resin, for example, an acrylic rubber emulsion or an SBR emulsion may be used. This makes it possible to impart softening properties to mortar conventionally hardened with cement as a binder. The resin having a softening property is appropriately mixed in such an amount that does not cause insufficient strength due to imparting excessive flexibility to the mortar.

<C> Rubber Powder As the rubber powder, it is conceivable to employ a rubber obtained by pulverizing a rubber made of a known resin and having a particle size of 2 mm or less. This makes it possible to impart elasticity to mortar conventionally hardened by cement as a binder. The rubber powder is appropriately mixed in such an amount that does not cause insufficient strength due to imparting excessive elasticity to the mortar.

<4> Fibers As the fibers, for example, natural fibers such as sepiolite may be used. This makes it possible to impart a predetermined strength to the mortar to which flexibility has been imparted. The fibers are appropriately mixed in an amount that does not impair the flexibility imparted to the mortar. In addition to natural fibers, artificially manufactured fibers can be used.

As described above, the present invention has the following effects. <A> Since the flexible mortar of the present invention is rich in flexibility, for example, when applied to a concrete surface or when used for tiling, the mortar has excellent ability to follow the behavior of concrete and tiles, and exfoliates concrete. There is no danger of the tiles coming off.
